Protect Your Child From Sepsis: Get a Second Opinion
Sepsis is a serious and life-threatening body’s reaction to an infection sometimes referred to as blood poisoning. You should see your child’s doctor or get a second opinion if you feel you’ve not been listened to about the concerns you have about your child.
As parents of little children, it’s crucial to have a thermometer and Paracetamol or Ibuprofen at home to treat fever. Your child may look pale, hands and feet may be cold, or your child is breathing very fast and chest sucking inside, in between the ribs, or your child’s temperature is high and not coming down with Paracetamol or Ibuprofen, you should call for an ambulance.
In the hospital, blood test is done to confirm diagnosis of sepsis and an antibiotic is given immediately to treat sepsis.
