Dr Shaughan Ude has been a medical doctor for the last 20 years. He is a consultant physician
in diabetes and endocrinology. His postgraduate specialty training was in the East of England. This
involved 2 years at the world renowned Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge. He is dual certified and
therefore, he also work as a general physician. He currently work at Maidstone General Hospital.
He has experience working at the tertiary hospital and district Hospital settings. He is a member of the
Royal College of physicians as well as the Society for Endocrinology and at the British Diabetes
Association.
His scope of work covers all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology. This includes pituitary, thyroid,
adrenal, parathyroid and calcium disorders.
His diabetes practise covers type 1 diabetes type 2 diabetes antenatal diabetes and young adult
diabetes. He has a special interest in type 3C diabetes.
He delivers care to a very high standard; He is very patient oriented, and he always keeps the patient at the
focus of any consultation.
He keeps up to date with current practise guidance and specialty recommendations. He is a strong
advocate for continuing professional development. This is very important particularly in the ever-
changing landscape of diabetes and endocrinology.
He has various interests outside of medical practise. These would include aviation; technology and he
likes a good game of tennis.
He is available most weekday evenings weekends to provide virtual consultations.
